The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is only apparently one of the smallest voivodeships in Poland. The Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Puszcza Jodłowa (the Fir Forest, tr.), relics of ancient beliefs and extraordinary monuments of culture, history and technology – are only some of the region's chief assets that signify its grandeur.

We can find here the traces of prehistory, the evidence on the origins of Christianity in the country of Wiślanie (Wiślica), magnificent fortifications and knight’s castles. The ruins of Krzyżtopór castle – the magnificent palazzo di fortezza – one of the greatest aristocratic residences in Poland,  the fortress of Chęciny and the royal castle in Szydłów called the Polish Carcassonne are the places where the ghosts from the past speak to us during numerous tournaments and demonstrations of chivalry. Sandomierz is the real "jewel in the crown" of the region. Here you can find numerous world-class architectural monuments of different eras and different architectural styles.

Hiking trail of technology monuments of the Old Polish Industrial District will reveal to us the beginnings of Polish industry and the Ethnographic Park in Tokarnia will provide us the contact with the traditions and folk customs. The real gem of the świętokrzyski region are the Ancient Mines of Striped Flint in Krzemionki near Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski – a monument  whose value matches megalithic Stonehenge and is one of the greatest objects of its kind in Europe.

The region can also offer attractive sanatoria and spa and wellness services (in the towns of Busko-Zdrój and Solec-Zdrój). Busko- Zdrój is one of the major Polish health resorts and the waters drawn there are some of the rarest to find anywhere else (sulphuric and iodide-bromide). They are used for bathing or drinking cures. Their medical properties put Busko among unique health resorts in Europe.

Climate conditions and  gardening traditions have contributed to the fact that orchard production has become the pride of the region and apples the main export product. Currently every third Polish apple comes from the świętokrzyskie region.
